    Science Department

    Introduction:

    Science wing performs the following operations and coordinates/supervises the following schemes throughout the academic session. The wing is proposing the below mentioned initiatives for 2026-27. The brief about introduction of such schemes along with roles/responsibility of Science Wing, SCERT are hereby mentioned below along with the objectives of Science Wing–

    1. SPARK – To popularize Science, wing has continued its new initiative titled as SPARK in 2026 -27 (Science Promotion through Activities, Research & Knowledge) for popularizing Science. The programme will involve on-site visits to schools by the team of DIET and direct academic intervention to uplift Board performance of the school.
    2. Science Sutra 2.o – Science department has continued Science Sutra in 2026 -27. The live demonstration of the Science Activities (as per monthly aligned syllabus for classes VI – VIII) is performed. The in house subject experts and external speakers are invited as Resource Person for the session.
    3. Green Steps for Better Future – Mission LiFE – A sustainability Calendar has been prepared and shared with all Government Schools. The calendar includes green activities on monthly basis. These activities are performed by Government schools’ students and observed by DIET faculties during their visits to schools.
    4. Exhibition Under INSPIRE Award MANAK  Coordination for nominations under the scheme, supervision of District Level Exhibition(DLEPC) and organization of State Level Exhibition (SLEPC) under the umbrella of DST, Govt. of India.
    5. Rajya Stariya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani RSBVP – (Previously, Jawaharlal Lal Nehru National Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition JNNSMEE) – Supervision of Block, District level by the districts & organization of State Level RSBVP under the aegis of NCERT Delhi.
    6. Webinar Series 3.O. – Wing has cotinued Webinar Series in 2026 -27 in which various lectures on selected domains (as highlighted by NEP 2020) are streamed live. The lectures on topics e.g. Basics of intellectual rights, counselling session for X / XII Class students, AI, Robotics, cyber safety, Data Science, Mental Health are delivered online on official YouTube channel of SCERT
    7. Science Lab Inspection – To enhance the functionality of Science Labs of the Govt. Schools, the lab visit is performed by the Science Wing Members. The instructions for the lab visit are also issued to DSS and then the visit reports as submitted by all are compiled and closely monitored for the desired output.
    8. State Level Science Seminar for Students – Organization of the Block, District Level event of Science Seminar is supervised and the State Level Event is organized by SCERT.
    9. State Level Science Seminar for Teachers – Science Wing supervises the District Level event of Science Seminar and organizes the State Level Event for the same.
    10. State Level Science Drama Contest –  The Block and District Level event of Science Drama contest is supervised by SCERT and afterwards the State Level Science Drama Contest is organized by SCERT.
    11. DSS Monthly Meeting – Monthly Meeting of all District Science Specialists is being organized on regular basis. The meeting is either being organized through online mode or physical meeting at SCERT premises. The agenda points for the monthly meeting are majorly centred around various Science initiatives by Science Wing.
    12. DIET Monthly Meeting – Monthly meeting of all DIET Science Faculties and SDG coordinators is being regularly organized by Science Wing. The meeting is being conducted through hybrid mode i.e. Online and sometimes Physical meeting. The agenda points for monthly meeting are centred around Sustainability Calendar and Scientific tasks assigned to DIET Faculties by Science Wing SCERT.
    13. Rashtriya Avishkar Saptah (RAS) – The activities related to tree plantation and water conservation are being implemented by SCERT under the guidance and instructions issued by NCERT New Delhi. All of these activities took place as part of the Rashtriya Avishkar Saptah (RAS), which aims to foster interest in science, mathematics, and technology among children.
    14. Coordination with other Wings of Council – The Science wing coordinates with other wings for the various training programs (Induction, Capacity Building, Subject Specific), content development and Monthly Distribution of Syllabus for Science, Physics, Chemistry & Biology, Designing and moderation of question papers for various scholarship schemes & SAT

    Objectives:

      • To foster a deep interest in science among students through various programs.
      • To promote scientific thinking amongst the stake holders.
      • To spread awareness about various science schemes/initiatives of State/Central Government.
      • To improvise understanding of Science through experiential learning.
      • To provide academic support for board classes.
      • To create awareness on various scientific issues.
      • To understand the evolution of scientific knowledge
      • To Popularize Science through various programs.

    Key Achievements:

    1. Selection of 16 Students for 12th  & 13th NLEPC – The 16 SLEPC winners from Haryana State will participate and represented the state at 12th & 13th NLEPC (to be organized by DST, GoI) to be held in coming months of 2025 -26. The event will tentatively be organized at New Delhi.
    2. Selection of 3 students for RBVP 2025 – Three (03) State Winners were selected by NCERT for participation at National Level Event of JNNSMEE. The Event was organized at RIE Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from 18th November 2025 to 23rd November 2025
    3. Research Papers Publication – One research papers based on the study of functionality of Science Laboratories in Government Senior Secondary Schools in Nuh has been prepared and will soon be communicated to Journal of National/ International repute. The paper is expected to be published in initial months of year 2026.
    4. Development of Nano Kit Three more addition to nano kit has been done by Science Wing SCERT. The models are low cost no cost models and will help to popularize science for middle classes.
