Testing and Assessment Department

Introduction:

Testing and Assessment Wing of SCERT is established to support Department of School Education of Haryana in policy making for Assessment and Evaluation in the state and strengthen all teachers, teacher- educators and administrators (District and Block level) of the Department for evaluation process in day to day teaching-learning. The department is also associated with other agencies e.g. NCERT, PARAKH and NUEPA to conduct large scale surveys.

Objectives:

• To support Haryana in policy making for Assessment and Evaluation in the state
• To prepare assessment plan for classes 1^stto 12^th.
• To prepare and provide tools for School Based Assessments.
• To prepare and provide question papers for Annual Assessment of Elementary Classes.
• To prepare and provide question papers for Pre Board Assessment of classes 10^thand 12^th.
• To create class wise and subject wise competency-based question banks.
• To conduct quizzes.
• To conduct State Educational Achievement surveys and National Achievement Survey in the state as per guidelines received from MoE.
• To run capacity building programs for teachers on School Based Assessment.
• To run capacity building programs for question creators/ reviewers/ moderators on question paper development.
• To build capacity of teachers on How to fill Holistic Progress Card?

Some Recent Activities/Programs:

• • Conducted Centralized Assessments -SATs, HYA, Annual Assessments for classes 4^th to 12^th
  • Creation of Question Banks for Class-6 (English, Maths & Science) Class- 7 (English and Science) and Class- 8 (Science )
  • Translation of Holistic Progress card developed by PARAKH NCERT for Foundational, Preparatory Middle & Secondary in Hindi
  • Capacity Building of 2 DIET Faculties, 1 BRP, 1 TGT , 1PRT and 1 Teacher from Balvatika regarding how to fill HPC?
  • Capacity Building of TGTs regarding how to create good questions?
  • Blue print designing.
  • SAT (Classes 6^th to 12^th)
  • HYA (Classes 6^th to 12^th)
  • Pre-board Examination (Class 10^th & 12^th )
  • Annual Assessment (Balvatika to Class 8)
